Protostar stack5 shellcode not working in the buffer (outside is ok)

Protostar Stack5 buffer overflow (32 bits shellcode)
I got a strange behaviour (strange maybe not BUT that I could not explain :-)
When I put the shellcode inside the buffer it does not work but when outside all is working fine.
It's protostart stack5 binary in it's original VM (constructed from Iso on linux 32 bits) so I would not give further info on the binary itself (stack is executable, ASLR is off, ....)

Shellcode Exploitation
We will use a well known and working shellcode :

shellcode is 58 bytes. We will construct our payload like that:
5 (NOP) + 58 (Shellcode) + 9 (PADDING-NOP) + 4 (EBP) + 4 (EIP) = 76 + 4 EIP bytes as computed

Questions / Others informations
I know there could be some adress change caused by ENVs vars but I do not think that is the problem... but I have no evidence.

EDIT : shellcode inside the buffer is now working :-)
When executing outside gdb and attaching to the process I see that the start of the buffer is located at another memory adress.
So instead of hardcoding EIP start of buffer I use a register to jump to.
Hopefully there is one that hold the good adress: eax

Unable to install Intel HD 4000 drivers on Lenovo T430 after installing Coreboot

I have a Lenovo T430 that i have successfully been able to install Coreboot on including the VGA bios extracted from my original BIOS binary. The reason is that i want to be able to duaboot Windows 10 and Ubuntu.
Display graphics works somewhat fine on windows 10 except for that the windows boot screen is not shown on the whole screen, more like a letterbox resolution that covers 2/3 of the screen. I then changed the resolution in Windows and all seemed fine. But when i try to install any drivers for the Intel HD 4000 graphics the screen goes black and the laptop reboots. Checking the windows logs shows that the system BSOD's with code 0x50 "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". I have tried with two different extracted VGA blobs using UEFITool and i encounter the same error. One blob was extracted by searching for the Intel option ROM GUID (https://www.coreboot.org/Intel_Sandybridge_Build_Tutorial#Nvidia_Option_ROM), the other was extracted by finding the text "VGA Compatible BIOS" (https://www.coreboot.org/VGA_support#UEFI_Method).
Does anyone have any clue what the issue could be?

[Help] Help everything is crashing!

Hello I have an iPhone 6 (iOS 9.3.1) lately everything has been crash, Instagram is the only app that doesn't crash, I have CrashReporter installed and the notification I keep get is "PPNvwaSpriteDaemon" has crashed. There are no suspects.

Only one resolution available(1024x768) on 10.11.3

I disabled the internal graphic hd4600 Instead, I use the GALAX GT 610 as my graphic card. However it only shows the 1024x768 to me.

Ubuntu 14.04 kernel oops on boot after Nvidia driver update

Hi!
I recently updated my computer running Ubuntu 14.04 after not using it for ~two months. Among the updates were a new proprietary nvidia driver, nvidia-340 and a new kernel. So I restart the computer but after a few seconds of normal booting (purple background ubuntu logo and all of that) some red text flashes by and then there’s only a a purple background. Ctrl + Alt + F1 does not work either. So I hold down the power button, and restart. It’s the same problem with older kernels. So I use recovery mode, root seems to work, so I try to use the option to repair broken packages, it does it’s thing, Ctrl + C and I get to the login menu and everything works fine, even 3D games.
But the problem still persist with normal boot. In the meantime I find out that I have two graphics drivers, both nvidia-331and nvidia-340 installed. So I go into Software & Updates and install nvidia-346 seeing as it’s apparently tested. This also removes the old drivers.

Problem with boot still persists so I check /valog/syslog for the failed boot, and one part in particular stood out:

I have since this problem started to occur gotten a kernel upgrade.
Update: Just tried to set rcutree.rcu_idle_gp_delay=1 in GRUB, unfortunately my issue still persists. http://codeyarns.com/2015/03/30/nvidia-module-taints-linux-kernel/ Also it seems as if I can just do resume boot from recovery mode and everything works as expected.
Update 2: SOLVED! Turns out I had bad RAM in my computer. I replaced them and now it works fine again. So if anyone else runs into this problem, run memcheck!

The code is designed to return an integer value, which it does perfectly fine. However I need a more accurate reading than an integer value- at least two decimal places. How can I change the code to return a float value?
I try changing the declaration for "reading" from
int reading = 0; 
to
float reading = 0.00; 
but I get the following error:

Changed my theme, now autoboot doesn't work.

Hey guys, So I changed my Clover theme using Clover Configurator, and now my autoboot doesn't work. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the theme altering my NVRAM. I've tried changing the default boot volume to my UUID and that still doesn't work. However, when I select my Macintosh hard drive as a startup disk in preferences, it will autoboot the first time and then fail to autoboot subsequent times. Below is a copy of my boot.log. Any ideas? [Question] Springboard keeps crashing since BackupAZ restore, need help deciphering crash log.

Since I restored all my tweaks from iOS 8.3 to iOS 8.4, I was never able to respring. I use a tweak that gives crash logs on crashes and I have one here, but can't really figure out what the problem is. Please someone help me out with this, thanks.
